Update: After my last review, I did see in the description that people would need something to prop the base for tanks with rims. Since I didn't have anything, I put the base on the opposite side. It's not how its supposed to be, but it'll be fine for meantime.

This bracket was purchased to replace the clip on bracket that came along with the 48" hygger clip-on light. What a big difference!! The bracket that came with the clip on light was leaning, very hard to fit in a rimmed 75 gallon tank. However, with the purchase of 2 of these brackets, it made a big difference! The bracket stood tall and proud like a high quality bracket should be. The ease of installation was superb, it came with screws with rubber tip to protect the glass aquarium. You have to position the bracket according to manufacturer's instruction so it would stay in place. Never mind that the hygger brand is on the front, I understand some wouldn't want it exposed, but hey, that's a quality brand name so be proud of it, besides, that's the reason you bought this high end bracket anyway! lol. It also have an adjustable knob where it holds the light, so you can either slide it to the front, center or back. What fun right? What's more, you can also adjust the height of the bracket d3pending on how short or tall you want it situated. That clip on bracket that came with the light should have never been marketed by hygger, it just ruins their name. But this steel bracket, is a steal at less than $24 each. I bought 2 for my 48" light and am very satisfied. I plan to buy another pair for my wife's 55 gallon!

Love the bracket to help get the light higher off the tank. However it does wobble when mounted to a tank with a plastic rim. The screws that hold the bracket to the tank are slightly offset so it doesn't apply equal pressure. Wish the bracket with the screws that mount it to the tank was a little larger and the mounting screws spaced out a little bit more.

  1. these are perfect . I was a bit worried they wouldn’t work on my tank but, they did and fit snugly. Very sturdy and gives me room to work on the tank without having to remove the light.

  2. I bought these to adapt the max plant lights to my tanks with a rim on them. I wish I could have ordered the lights with the right bracket or they came with both.

  6. Looks fine and sturdy. Unfortunately I guess I chose the wrong size because it just immediately tips and won’t hold itself up on the lip of my aquarium.
